The centrepiece of the latest innovation, and the starting point of a new FRITZ!Box generation, is the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90. This design statement doesn’t just have a new, elegant exterior, but also packs a real punch: with support for fiber and DSL as well as tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with up to 12.2 Gbit/s, multi-gigabit LAN and comprehensive smart home support, it’s the perfect router for demanding digital households. Whether for gaming, working from home, streaming, or smart home – the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90 masters every digital scenario with ease and provides a stable, fast and secure network. FRITZ! is expanding its fiber optic portfolio with the FRITZ!Box 5630 XGS for fast, modern XGS-PON connections with up to 10 Gbit/s, and for mobile net-works the FRITZ!Box 6835 5G with Wi-Fi 7 is waiting in the wings. At IFA 2026, the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90 will celebrate its world premiere, marking the start of a new FRITZ!Box generation. The new design, nominated for the German Design Award, combines elegant simplicity with robust reliability and is setting a new standard for the digital home. The product of years of experience, extensive research, and the precise analysis of users' real needs, with this model FRITZ! is redefining the design of the FRITZ!Box. The operation has been reduced to the absolutely essential: one button and one LED. A further central element of the new minimalistic design is the innovative cable management. All cables are routed in a structured, protected, invisible system that adds to the overall aesthetic of the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90. On the technology side, the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90 is about brilliant performance: It supports both fiber optics (GPON/AON) and DSL, offering ultra-fast tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with up to 12.2 Gbit/s and lightening-fast multi-gigabit WAN/LAN connections. The FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90 with the new FRITZ!Box design and the FRITZ!Box 5630 XGS complete the FRITZ! Wi-Fi 7 portfolio for fiber optics. The FRITZ!Box 5630 XGS serves as a powerful basic model for fast XGS-PON connections with up to 10 Gbit/s, complementing the already available FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS. For GPON and AON connections, FRITZ! also offers three proven models: the 5690 Pro with DSL option and tri-band Wi-Fi 7, the high-end 5690, and the compact 5630. This means FRITZ! covers the entire spectrum of high-performance fiber optic routers – from professional applications through to home use for every household.
FRITZ!Box 6835 5G – with Wi-Fi 7 for stationary and mobile flexibility
At IFA, FRITZ! is also presenting the new FRITZ!Box 6835 5G. It excels wherever Wi-Fi and mobile internet access are needed due to the lack of a sufficiently fast landline connection. The innovative FRITZ!Box 6835 5G combines state-of-the-art 5G technology with Wi-Fi 7 and offers maximum flexibility for internet access via mobile broadband at up to 2 Gbit/s in stationary or mobile use. It supports eSIM and SIM, is supplied with power via a USB-C port, and therefore can even be operated via a power bank. The new FRITZ!Box is ideal for use in regions with gaps in broadband coverage to allow fast internet everywhere that mobile networks are available. Wi-Fi 7 in a dual-band 2x2 antenna configuration provides for data rates of up to 3.5 Gbit/s via Wi-Fi. Even when connected via cable, devices can also enjoy fast network connections via a 2.5-Gibt/s and a 1-Gbit/s LAN port. Alternatively, the FRITZ!Box 6835 5G is also easy to deploy on another FRITZ!Box as a FRITZ! Failsafe solution in case of a loss of connection via fiber optics, DSL or cable.
Deluxe Wi-Fi: quad-band Wi-Fi 7 with the FRITZ!Repeater 6700 Pro
At IFA, FRITZ! is once again demonstrating its pioneering role in Mesh Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 7, presenting the new FRITZ!Repeater 6700 Pro, which delivers data rates of up to 18 Gbit/s. The quad-band repeater exploits the entire bandwidth of Wi-Fi 7 on the four frequency bands 6 GHz, 2 x 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz. This powerful Wi-Fi, along with one 10-Gbit/s and one 2.5-Gbit/s fast LAN port, ensures the high performance of the new FRITZ!Repeater for many mobile devices and applications.
New features for the MyFRITZ!App and FRITZ!OS 8.50
All the features of the upcoming FRITZ!OS 8.50 can be seen live in action at IFA. With the major update for FRITZ! products come extensive new features. These include DNS filtering for greater security, automatic prioritisation of internet traffic for more robust real-time applications, and an extension of FRITZ! Failsafe, the failover protection feature. The new ‘Simple Mode’ for the FRITZ!Fon offers elderly people more intuitive operation, including automated emergency calls. There are also a number of new features in the MyFRITZ!App. The highlight is the Smart Check that runs in the background on the FRITZ!Box and provides an intelligent diagnostic function. This gives users tips and optimization suggestions in the app or on the user interface for the Wi-Fi signal and device placement – and a major service boost: The app now also provides access to shop and support pages, including the FRITZ! chatbot, so that help can be provided straightaway. Another highlight is the Matter bridge function of the FRITZ!Box 5690. This enables all FRITZ! Smart Home devices and compatible devices from other manufacturers that are registered with the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro to be seamlessly integrated into existing Matter networks like Apple Home, Google Home or Amazon Alexa. Users can then also benefit from convenient voice controls.
Greater efficiency in the smart home: FRITZ! provides new controls for energy and heating
Alongside the push for greater smart home interoperability thanks to the Matter bridge function for the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro, the compact FRITZ!Smart Energy 201 smart plug will celebrate its market launch in October. The new smart radiator control FRITZ!Smart Thermo 303 will soon follow as a modern addition to the tried-and-tested FRITZ!Smart Thermo 302. Its reduced size makes it easy to control even hard-to-reach radiator valves. The FRITZ!Smart Thermo 303 is the smart solution for households, businesses, and educational institutions looking to reduce heating costs while ensuring a pleasant indoor climate. This means that for the upcoming heating season, FRITZ! users have access to a comprehensive portfolio of intelligent devices for the smart home.
